PIC established by joint venture between some Iranian banks and American Du Pont de Nemours Company in 1974 and registered in Tehran. In 1978 two plants of Polyester and one plant of Acrylic fibers started up and then in 1984 shifted its registration to Esfahan. According to developing policy, in 2000 second plant of Acrylic fiber and tow installed and started up based on license of Italian Snia Company.
PIC's Products and capacities
PIC's nominal annual capacities come to 125000 annual metric tons. The products include a variety of polyester yarn and fiber, acrylic fiber and tow, polyester tops, PET-GF granules outlined below.
Developed Products:
- PolyCool : This product is produced at Polyester POY or Staple fiber Plant and because of its restructured cross section and physical properties is a type of moisture managing fiber which is used in every type of fabrics including sport wears. It can be produced in a variety of counts depending on the customer needs.
- Cation Dyeable Polyester, CDP : This product is produced at Polyester POY or Staple fiber Plant and because of its restructured chemical properties can be dyed in a career free condition and normal pressure and temperature with basic textile dyes. So it is known as Pseudo Acrylic. It can be produced in different counts depending on the customer needs.
- Antibacterial Acrylic fiber: This health certified fiber prevents bacterial growth in home textiles and clinical carpet and blanket.
- Super-white Acrylic Fiber: With an excellent whiteness in fibers, it can be used for special textile proposes.
- PolyBest Fiber: Improved chemical and physical properties with variety cut length 3, 6, 12 mm of Acrylic fibers, leads to find a proper substitution of carcinogenic Asbestos which was traditionally used in cement sheets. It meets all requirements of civil regulations and can be used in brake-pad and battery industries. Considering the poor mechanical properties of polypropylene (PP) and high price of polyvinyl alcohol (PVA), PolyBest poses high mechanical properties and economical aspects.
