More Information: SHOMAL Engineering & Manufacturing Company (Pirooz) (SEMC) was founded in 1985 as a designer and manufacturer of specially built machines, mechanisms, and industrial fabrication equipment located in the city of Salmanshahr in the northern province of Mazandaran in Iran. After a period of growth SEMC expanded its operations into manufacturing of products used in Oil, Gas, and Petrochemical, as well as Electricity Distribution industries by focusing into making Electrical Equipment for use in potentially explosive atmospheres.
Since 1993 SEMC is dedicating itself to a continuous effort for technical innovation and quality improvement in designing and manufacturing its range of products, as a consequence, it has obtained the certificates for supplying the more relevant products for oil, gas and petrochemical industries with explosion proof electrical equipment, focusing the requirements/specification of development projects in our country IRAN as our main costumers. SEMC has participated in almost all projects relevant to oil, gas and petrochemical projects in Iran as the leading designer and manufacturer of explosion-proof and weatherproof electrical equipment suitable for hazardous areas since the beginning of its activity.
In 1997 , SEMC obtained the Quality Assurance Notification by the United Kingdom’s EECS ( BASEFFA ) ,a governmental organization, and became an ATEX-certified manufacturer of cable glands and junction boxes according to eurupian directive 94/9/EC. SEMC-BASEFFA cooperation continued until 2003 when EECS was unilaterally dissolved. Hence, with EECS’s approval, SEMC’s entire portfolio of certificates was taken over by another British notified body, namely SIRA. The commencement of SEMC-SIRA cooperation resulted in the issuance of Quality Assurance Notification and Quality Assessment Report (QAN & QAR) notifications under ATEX and IECEx requirements respectively, as well as ISO9001 Quality Management System for SEMC’s range of products.
In January 2012, SEMC formally began its cooperation with Germany’s TUV Rheinland notified body which culminated in the transfer of all of SEMC’s certificates from the UK’s SIRA to TϋV Rheinland and the issuing of ATEX and IECEx certified QAN and QAR notifications by the latter.
