More Information: Reezmouj System Co. runs MEdisk, the largest producer of blank and prerecorded CD and DVD in the Middle East and the 4th largest in the world. In a crowded field of 118 competitors worldwide, under the stewardship of Mohammad Hossein Taheri the company which employs up-to-date technology has turned Iran into the third largest producer in the world after Taiwan and India, a source of pride for our homeland.
Construction of the plant (MEdisk) in Takestan, Qazvin province got under way in September 2003. It took just five months to complete Phase 1 of the plant which is 12,000 square meters in area. The facility features an administrative building, a guardhouse, a dining hall, recreational facilities, production halls and an exclusive customs office. The plant began to experimentally roll out the first Iranian-made optical disks in February 2004. The project to produce blank CDs was launched by the then energy minister in July 2004.
Production of DVDs officially got under way in September 2007 with a number of state officials, among them the minister of industries and mines, in attendance. It was a milestone in application of cutting-edge technology in the country. Mass production of blank DVDs, a national first, which saw the plant subsequently produce over 1 billion DVDs a year, turned Reezmouj System Co. into the 4th largest producer in the world.
